What We Believe
Our Statement of Faith
The doctrinal basis of our church

We believe:

- That the whole Scripture of the Old and New Testaments as originally given are the verbally inspired Word of God, completely free from error and our absolute authority in all matters of faith and practice. (John 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21).
- In one true God, eternally existing in Three Persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit; these being the same in substance and equal in power and glory. (Genesis 1:26; Isaiah 6:8; John15:26; Mark 1:10; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:4).
- In the full deity of our Lord Jesus Christ who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. His perfect humanity, His substitutionary death, His bodily resurrection and ascension, His presence at the right hand of the Father, His unchanging priesthood and His future bodily return in and to glory. (Hebrews 13:8, Colossians 2:9: Luke 1:31,35; 1 Peter 2:22; Mark 16; Hebrews 5:6; Mark 13:26).
- In the personality and malignity of the devil and of the universality and great wickedness of sin. (1 Peter 5:8; Ephesians 6:11-12; Romans 3:23, 7:11-13).
- In the fallen, sinful, and lost estate of mankind (Romans 3:23; 5:12; Galatians 3).
- In the Divine provision of full salvation through the shed blood of Jesus Christ both from the penal consequences and power of sin. All who are willing, receive it by repentance towards God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. (1 John 1:9; Ephesians 2:8; John 5:24: 3:16; Romans 5:9).
- In the work of the Holy Spirit in the immediate regeneration of men; in their sanctification and their eternal preservation. (John 3:5-7; 10:28; 2 Thessalonians 2:13; Romans 8:14-16)
- That the Christian Church is the company of all who have been born of the Holy Spirit and have been formed into one body, of which Christ is the Head (Colossians 1:18; Ephesians 1:22 23).
- In the eternal consciousness of the soul, the resurrection of the body, the everlasting, divine fellowship and joy of the saved and the everlasting punishment of the lost. (2 Corinthians 5:1; Luke 16:22-24; 1 Corinthians 15:42-44; John 5:28-29; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10).

- That the observance of the two ordinances of the Lord Jesus Christ, namely Baptism and The Lord’s Supper, are an obligation upon all God’s children. Baptism is the immersion of believers upon their profession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and is a symbol of the fellowship of the regenerate in His death, burial and resurrection. The Lord’s Supper is a memorial of the sacrifice of the body and the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ until He comes again. (Matthew 28:19; Luke 22:19-20; Acts 8 :38-39; Romans 6:4; Corinthians 11: 23-26).
The purpose of the Church is to glorify God by:
- Promoting and providing opportunities for worship.
- Proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19-20).
- Providing fellowship for Christians so that their faith may be built up.
- Maintaining and teaching Christian standards of living.
- Enabling and encouraging Christians to use and develop their gifts in the service of the
Lord Jesus Christ, the Church and the community.
- Promoting and spreading the Gospel at home and overseas.
- Ministering to the needs of the whole person. Hebrews 10:24-25
